Why do I have to pay GST on my shipment to New Zealand?

The New Zealand government introduced GST laws effective from 1 December 2019. A Goods and Services Tax (GST) is to be applied to all sales of Low Value Goods (LVG) imported into New Zealand. We are obliged to collected GST on items with a value of $1,000 NZD or less.
