Many everyday items are technically classified as Dangerous Goods (DG) for air travel. Because these require special handling, documentation, and certified staff, the process is more complex than a standard shipment.

 Am I Shipping Dangerous Goods?

You might be surprised by what falls into this category. Common items include:

• Flammable Liquids: Perfumes, aftershaves, nail polish, and alcohol-based sanitizers.

• Pressurized Goods: Aerosols (deodorants, hairsprays, spray paint).

• Corrosives: Certain hair dyes, bleach, and strong cleaning fluids.

• Batteries: Loose lithium-ion batteries or power banks (Note: Batteries inside a device, like a laptop, are usually easier to ship).

 The Dangerous Goods Process

If you think your item might be restricted, follow these steps before you buy:

1. Request an SDS: Ask the retailer for a Safety Data Sheet (SDS). This document tells our team exactly how the item must be classified.

2. Contact Support: Email [e-mail] with the SDS and your destination country.

3. Check for Surcharges: Couriers (like DHL, FedEx or UPS) often apply a Dangerous Goods Surcharge (which can be depending on the item and destination) to cover the cost of specialized transport.

4. Confirm Destination: Some countries have a total ban on private individuals receiving certain "hazardous" items. We will check if your country allows the specific commodity.
